SEO and Content
Marketing Training
I offer training for in house teams, both small and large, on SEO and content marketing for link acquisition.
Bespoke
I create training materials based on your specific needs, team experience and business goals. Tailoring the training specifically in this way gives it greater relevance for you.
Flexible
Whether it’s an introduction to SEO for staff with no knowledge, or an advanced tactical link building sessions for an experienced SEO team, I’m flexible both in materials delivered and where training is carried out.
Training from Experience
I’ve been delivering and leading SEO strategy and implementation since 2009. Still being hands on today means I’m up to date and offer training based on real experience.
Practical
There’s no point in training if you can’t apply what you’ve learnt. So I focus on practical training sessions, enabling you and your team to implement learnings in your own SEO and content marketing work immediately.
SEO and Content Marketing Training
From beginner level SEO right through to advanced content marketing promotion techniques, I build my training offering around my clients. I tailor the materials themselves to your team and goals, ensuring that the material is practical and can then easily be applied on your own campaigns.
Similarly, how and where the training is provided is flexible. Most often, I provide training on the premises of my clients over one or two days. But this can again be modified depending on your requirements.
My SEO training provisions typically comprise of presentation materials, practical on-the-day exercises (preferably based on the real challenges or tasks your team face daily on your own campaigns or websites) and open Q&A time. I also offer follow up sessions where needed and on going support should your team have questions or challenges relating to the topic material in the weeks following training.
Content Marketing and SEO Training - Typical Sessions
Here are some examples of the types of training I've provided to clients across the UK in recent months.
Keyword Research Training
A practical training session on identifying the phrases your potential customers are using and on mapping them to your site. At the end of the session, attendees were able to write a keyword strategy and use it as the basis for going about modifying and improving site content to drive new potential customers.
SEO 101
A basic introduction to SEO delivered to a marketing team without SEO backgrounds (largely comprised of copywriters and social media execs). The goal here was to ensure that the team had enough knowledge to ensure they capitalised on any SEO benefit their existing work might have, particularly with regard to PR and copywriting.
Content Ideas Generation
A practical training session to help an experienced content marketing team to overcome its biggest challenge - coming up with ideas at scale. I focussed on sharing methods for creating large lists of ideas quickly and then on narrowing down ideas based on the likelihood of success in order to help the team create better quality ideas more quickly.
SEO Competitor Analysis Training
This was a training session for an in house SEO team that was struggling to assess why their competitors were ranking better for certain queries. I trained the team on identifying competitors, analysing their activity and search visibility and assessing what's working for them - and then applying this information to their own campaign.
Link Building Training
A session delivered to an experienced SEO team, this was about link building in today's search landscape. I focussed on content marketing led link acquisition but also on more "quick win," tactical link building too. This session helped that team to overcome its issues building sufficient links to compete.
PR and SEO
A training session designed for a large marketing team, this was about how PR and SEO benefit one another. The ultimate objective was to ensure that a PR team that was performing well could also provide some SEO benefit from its work. Similarly, I showed the team how the SEO skills it possessed could be used to get further value from the PR work and assets.
